Ford thinks they were right to keep Indy alive.

Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Warning: This article contains spoilers for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.Harrison Ford has spoken out about Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, shooting down complaints that the film didn't end with the death of his iconic archaeologist character.

Dial of Destiny ends with Indy reconciling with his estranged wife and the love of his life, Marion Crane. It's a surprisingly tender moment that evokes the franchise's previous emotional highs seen in the relationship between Indiana and his father, portrayed by Sean Connery, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Seeing as Indiana Jones didn't die when Ford read the script, he says it wasn't something he even considered until the idea came up as they were filming.

Why Killing Indiana Jones Wouldn't Have Worked Above all else, killing Indiana Jones would have been too obvious. The death of a main character is all too often used by writers to find a lazy means of making the audience feel emotion at the end of a story. It's rarely actually the right ending for that character, and films like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

There's no thematic justification for killing Indiana Jones. He isn't passing the torch to anyone, he isn't making a supreme sacrifice to save the world, and he doesn't deserve to die. In fact, Dial of Destiny is largely about making peace with the past and the things you can't change. It would make no sense for Indy to experience the character growth that he does, only to die immediately afterward.

Indiana Jones Staying In The Past Wouldn't Have Worked Either Not all complaints about the ending are from people who believe Indiana Jones should have died. Some believe he should have stayed in 213 BC after accidentally traveling back in time, as his character wished to do before being forced back to the present by Helena .

Using topology, researchers advance understanding of how cells organize themselvesUsing topology, researchers advance understanding of how cells organize themselvesThe fact that humans and other living organisms can develop and grow from a single cell relies on a process called embryonic development. For healthy tissue to form, cells in the embryo have to organize themselves in the right way in the right place at the right time. When this process doesn't go right, it can result in birth defects, impaired tissue regeneration or cancer. All of this makes understanding how different cell types organize into a complex tissue architecture one of the most fundamental questions in developmental biology.

Ford, uniquely exposed to a strike, makes a last ditch effort.Ford, uniquely exposed to a strike, makes a last ditch effort.CEO Jim Farley and executive chairman Bill Ford both showed up to the negotiating table with UAW earlier this week in an effort to avert a strike, the company said in a statement. (UAW President Shawn Fain was a no-show, Ford says.) Ford wants to be seen as pulling out all the stops. But it’s also true that Ford employs the most UAW members of all the “Big Three” automakers, leaving the company uniquely exposed to the economic fallout from a strike. The deadline to reach a deal is tonight at 11:59PM. Tick tick tick.
