John Anderson Jr. was sentenced Feb. 16 to 8–20 years in state prison for the June 16, 2019 homicide, according to the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office. Anderson said he called 911 when he woke up and noticed the baby hanging in a laundry basket next to the bed. But text messages between Anderson and the child’s mother two weeks before the baby’s death documented Anderson’s growing frustration with caring for his son, prosecutors said.
The forensic pathologist performing the autopsy said Anderson’s account of what happened was inconsistent with the medical evidence, according to prosecutors.
