“It is a very rare, unique thing to jump into a show midstream while the company is on tour and just do this one city, but it’s a dream come true for me,” O'Malley said.

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- “Hamilton” returns to Playhouse Square this week. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning musical opens a six-week run at the KeyBank State Theatre on December 6, more than four years since its first and only previous stop in Cleveland.

But Dec. 19 is the date Broadway performer Rory O’Malley has circled on his calendar. That’s when the Cleveland native returns to his hometown to take over the role of King George in the same theater where he saw his first Broadway musical more than 30 years ago.
