Oct. 31 falls on Monday this year, but holiday activities will be going on through the weekend.It’s looking like it will be a mixed bag for Alabama, according to forecasters. Saturday will be soggy, but Monday could be OK to even nice depending on where you are.NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has put the southwest part of Alabama in a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather on Saturday. A Level 1 risk means that isolated severe storms will be possible.
The National Weather Service in Mobile said the strongest storms could have damaging wind gusts, and a tornado can’t be ruled out.A storm or two will be possible in other parts of west Alabama on Saturday, but organized severe weather isn’t expected, according to the weather service.Rain will move into Alabama on Saturday from west to east. It could be a good, soaking rain that helps to put a dent in drought conditions in some areas, but it won’t be good for candy canvassing.
The best time for rain will unfortunately be Saturday afternoon through Saturday night, according to the weather service. High temperatures on Saturday will be in the upper 60s in north Alabama, the low to mid-70s in central Alabama and the upper 70s in south Alabama:Lows on Saturday night into Sunday morning will be in the 50s to low 60s statewide:Rain could linger into the day on Sunday, but rain chances should begin to decrease from west to east.There could be some lingering drizzle in north and north-central Alabama on Halloween, but the chances are on the low side, according to the weather service.
