Rescuers were racing against the clock to find survivors on Sunday, with the civil protection tweeting that efforts by "both professional rescuers and members of the public have led to many people being pulled from the rubble," adding that already overburdened hospitals continue to receive injured. Churches, businesses, schools and homes crumbled in the quake that trapped hundreds of victims under rubble and left at least 1,800 people injured, the country's civil protection agency said.

7.2 magnitude earthquake hits Haiti; at least 304 killedAt least 304 people are now confirmed dead, with another 1,800 injured, after a powerful magnitude 7.2 earthquake struck southwestern Haiti, with widespread damage reported. The epicenter of the quake was about 78 miles west of the capital Port-au-Prince.
