“I was certain that I stepped on the base,” Amed Rosario said via interpreter Agustin Rivero. “I was really certain of what happened.” Starting pitcher Shane Bieber said he didn’t have much doubt Rosario tagged the bag.

When asked whether he thought the Rays were employing any sort of gamesmanship by challenging the play, Rosario downplayed the moment. The Cleveland Guardians bench celebrates after Jose Ramirez hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.“At first I thought it was me not stepping on the base,” Ramírez said. “But I was confident that I stepped on it. Then when they give the resolution, I just felt extra happy and was able to celebrate.”
