UPDATE: Multiple agencies are working to put out the 'Shothole Fire,' which has already burned 106 acres on the MCAS Miramar Base.
San Diego fire crews are working to put out a fire that broke out on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, sending a large plume of black smoke into the air on a hot Tuesday afternoon.
"Shothole" is what Marines use to clear ordinance, which is where the fire started, according to Lt. Jacoby Hawkins, MCAS Miramar Base Pubic Affairs Officer.
