'I didn't realise how happy my son made me until the day he left this planet'

A Co Derry mother has paid tribute to her 'kind-hearted' son who died earlier this year from coronavirus.

"I didn't realise how happy my son made me until the day he left this planet," Michelle said. "He was such a character and he would always make his family laugh. Michelle continued: "He had to use a wheelchair but he always wanted to have his independence and he was very determined about that. I would help Kieran and care for him as much as I could and his death has left a huge hole in our family circle.

As part of honouring Kieran's memory, the Legenderry Motor Show in the city will celebrate the Derry man's life by dedicating their special 10th annual show to him.Falling under the Belfast Live banner, MyDerry is part of our drive to cover news, people and events in your area. "He just loved cars," Michelle added "Cars and Liverpool were his two loves and that's what he enjoyed doing. His friends were all into their cars as well and he would've gone out driving along with them and he loved it.

"That's why he'd be thrilled to know that the upcoming car show will be dedicated to him. It makes me emotional to think about it because he would've loved the idea of that.
