Christopher Gribble, 21, accused of being part of quartet of men who took part in deadly NH home invasion
Christopher Gribble's father said he was not taking sides in the murder trial of his now 21-year-son. Gribble, is accused of being part of a quartet of young men who invaded the home of Kimberly Cates in October of 2009. Gribble has admitted to stabbing Cates to death and trying to kill her 11-year-old daughter.
Gribble used a Boy Scout knife, while his convicted accomplice -- Steven Spader, already sentenced to life in prison -- used a machete in the attacks. Gribble's father told the court he hadn't seen his son since July of last year. Gribble was an Eagle scout and his father a scout leader said he was proud of Chris's scouting accomplishments. He said problems started in 2007 when Chris was accused by another worshiper at their Mormon church of repeatedly touching his wife inappropriately. Chris was taken to counselors and put on prozac but a cadet leader from a military camp told him to get him more.
