The MasterChef star says his appearance on Strictly led to his anxiety levels soaring
If there was an example that anxiety can affect anyone then Gregg Wallace would be a terrific candidate. The larger-than-life TV star, best known for his work on MasterChef, carries the same insecurities, anxieties and self-doubt as many of us.
It was nine years ago when an appearance on Strictly led to his anxiety soaring. He said: “I was having a really tough time. I was really, really stressed… so badly that the side of my face broke out into a rash, like cold sores.” Gregg thinks a lot of this stems from growing up with no money on a council terrace, leaving home with no qualifications and barely struggling to get by as he worked day and night. He says: “I felt keenly that I had no money when I was a young person, and that really scares me.
