The York Greek Food and Festival will be back at the Greek Annunciation Orthodox Church this weekend.
YORK, Pa. — The York Greek Food Festival will return to theThe event offers the community a chance to immerse itself in the culture, traditions and food of Greek people. The festival kicks off today and goes until Sunday, Oct. 15.
“We are bringing a part of Greece to you since we all can’t get there, so expect great food, great desserts and more,” said Lola Lamnatoz, president of the Parish Council. The event is hosted by the Greek Annunciation Church, first installed in 1951. The arrival of the first Greek immigrants in York and Adams Counties was in the late 1800s. Lamnatoz said there are many people in York County who are Greek who volunteer and come out to events like this.
“People in York love Greek food, and our Greek food is the best Greek food and so we want everyone here to enjoy themselves,” said Lamnatoz. Greek frappe, baklava ice cream and milkshakesOrthodox religious items and church tours are available
