The town has confirmed it will be holding an event to mark the start of the festive season
The date for Rochdale's Christmas lights switch-on has been confirmed as the borough prepares to welcome the festive season in 2023.
The news comes after it was announced there won't be a Christmas lights switch-on in Manchester city centre this year. Alongside the big switch on in Rochdale, the free Ignite Fire Festival will take place on Saturday, November 25 and Sunday, November 26 with more than 25 displays and illuminated installations open to walk through from 4pm to 8pm in the gardens opposite Rochdale Town Hall.
A techno infused performance by Drum Machine - a 20 strong drumming collective - is set to take place alongside the festival. The group have performed at festivals across the UK but it will be their first time in Rochdale.
