Thousands enjoyed pyrotechnic displays across the region
The skies across Greater Manchester were lit up last night as Mancunians celebrated bonfire night early.
Pictures by our photographer show people enjoying a fantastic display at Whalley Range Cricket and Lawn Tennis Club in south Manchester. The ticketed event included an enormous bonfire from 6.30pm and then fireworks from 8pm.READ MORE: The top stories across the M.E.N. today Saturday night appears to have passed off without serious incident in Greater Manchester. Video footage shows the horrifying moment fireworks were launched into the crowd. Flares hit a baby's pram in the chaos, while six people are thought to have been hit, the Mirror reports. Medics on hand for the event treated people for burns and blisters after the fireworks were wrongly misfired. One witness told how the mother of the baby meanwhile quickly threw her hands out to protect the youngster.
