Grimsby and Cleethorpes were the star attraction of BBC Two’s Great Coastal Railway Journeys, with Michael Portillo visiting the beautiful North East Lincolnshire coast.
He spoke to Lauren Little, a stakeholder adviser for Orsted, whose family have worked on the Grimsby Docks for generations. Michael was taken aback by the ‘smallest pub on the planet’ – where he stopped for a quick ale. Photo: BBC iPlayer As his time in Cleethorpes came to an end, the host would soon be arriving at the Humber Estuary – where he spoke to Peter Winchester, otherwise known as the Humber King.Peter has swam the length of the Humber 70 times, saying it became an “obsession” of his while also raising money for charitable causes.
