Kessinger, who the Astros took in the second round of the 2019 draft, is primarily a middle infielder but has made a start at all four infield positions this season for Sugar Land, where he’s hitting .284 with an .843 OPS and six home runs in 52 games., starting juts three games and going 2-for-14 at the plate. Kessinger also will have to be added to the team's 40-man roster.
