The church was filled with parishioners praying for family and friends in Ukraine. Ohio is home to roughly 40,000 Ukrainians, with more than 4,000 living in Parma. DeWine offered prayers for the Ukrainian people and what he called their “vibrant democracy.” He said “every Ohioan and American,” whether they have personal ties to Ukraine or not, “must care deeply about what is going on in Ukraine today.”
