The measure is one of several the governor signed Wednesday that are aimed at combating the fentanyl crisis.

Two years ago, Tucker checked into an inpatient drug rehabilitation facility. He watched “Rocky” and felt inspired from the training sequence montage that he could get clean and make something of his life. At the bill signing, Turner held up a printout photo from her son’s journal, tearfully reading aloud.

One of the bills Abbott signed requires schools to educate students in grades six through 12 on the dangers of the drug. It is known as “Tucker’s Law.”
