The GOP has vehemently slammed the entire impeachment inquiry and proceedings into Trump as a 'kangaroo court' and 'sham' since the beginning of the investigations.
Rep. Barry Loudermilk, R-GA, declared on the House floor Wednesday that "Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than the Democrats have afforded this president and this process."
Pilate, as the Bible tells the story, after initially exonerating Jesus, presided over his trial, and was then convinced by the unruly crowd to sentence Jesus to death, and then he"washed his hands" of it.
