Pantomimes, screenings and DJ sets will be at the dock throughout August
The Royal Albert Dock is holding its "Festival of Summer", a programme of family activities throughout August.
Families can expect pantomime-inspired productions of Punch and Judy, movie screens, artist demonstrations and musical performances to keep everyone entertained until the end of the month. A modernised Punch and Judy will see the classic characters in all their slapstick glory with shows taking place next door to Peaberry Coffee House and Kitchen on the inner quay, in the grand hall. The productions are free of charge with shows on August 4, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 25, 26, 27 and 28, with showtimes at 11:45am, 1pm, 2:15pm and 3:30pm.The Sol Cinema returns to Anchor Courtyard to screen free five-minute films on a vintage theatre set.
There are free drop-in 'Make at Tate' sessions where you can create masterpieces inspired by the gallery’s Liverpool Biennial display. Kids can also take to the seven seas at Maritime Museum and learn about the city’s seafaring past with Life on Board. Visitors will also see submarine sound stations return, including a DJ set from Fatboy Slim’s son and Celebrity Gogglebox star Woody Cook, who will debut his first set in Liverpool outside the Martin Luther King Jr Plateau on Sunday 27.Win your dream UK staycation with Hyatt
