Guests including Mark Brashear, Richard Mishaan, and Fern Mallis all made their way to the Samuel Parrish House on First Neck Lane, a venue with quite a bit of history—the shingle-style home was designed by McKim, Mead, and White in 1889 for Mr. Parrish, a gentleman who did much for Southampton’s cultural scene throughout the 19th century.
Guests stepped through stately hedges and joined the party on the lawn, which was outfitted with florals and linen-draped cocktail tables evoking the best in Hamptons chic. On the menu were Tito’s Lemon Smash cocktails , summer lettuce wraps, and a raw bar. The food on offer was a reminder of what had brought everyone out in the first place: to fundraise for GLWD, an organization that provides nutritious meals to those with illnesses unable to provide for themselves.
The evening featured remarks from Karen Pearl, president of GLWD, who praised 14,000 volunteers for their countless hours in the organization’s kitchen. A live auction moderated by Tamara Tunie followed, with auction items varying from backstage tickets to the upcoming Broadway production of“The only way that we’re able to do what we do at God’s Love We Deliver is through the support of all these generous people,” said Pearl.
