The news was met with frustration from passengers who described the service as a 'shambles'.
Glasgow Subway was forced to close to passengers this morning after staff got stuck on a broken-down train.
The service was due to begin at 6.30am but told customers at 6.42am that stations would be remaining closed due to the issue at the depot. A train bringing staff into work was reported to have broken down forcing bosses to delay opening stations and trains entering the system.Posting on social media, the SPT-run service said: "Apologies all, Subway will be late opening today. The staff train has broken down in the depot. We are working to get this moving as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience.
Another customer said: "Supposed to open at half six yet you tweet this at 6:42 when people are on their way to stations expecting an operating service. Poor."
