Some amazing finds from Archeology Scotland!
An archaeology team working at one of Glasgow's oldest football parks has revealed their exciting finds.
Having lain abandoned and neglected ever since, the overgrown remains of the old terracing and the pitch are just about all that survive of the historic ground. Dr Paul Murtagh of Archaeology Scotland explained the importance of the project, which saw archaeologists work with members of the public. The project, which ends on June 26 with an end of dig party, will also welcome anyone hoping to have a look around and explore the new discoveries.
Founded in 1872, the Hi-Hi, as they were nicknamed, played in the top division of the SFL for the majority of the club’s existence - even winning the league championship in 1903.
