Parents have to buy the correct uniform from an official supplier, identical cheaper versions are not allowed
A school told a girl off because she was wearing a skirt from Asda which comes in a pack of two for £5, instead of the identical £21.99 one from the official supplier. Parents have hit out at the school saying other children have been put into isolation for wearing belts, while they have had to cut up shoes that don't meet the tough rules.
“Where is the evidence that learning is impacted by ankles being on show? It’s archaic and makes no sense. With so many children being punished on their first day back, I would’ve thought that impacted more on learning and wellbeing than the wearing of a bracelet.” The Rawcliffe site shows the skirt is £21.99. Asda sells a pack of two girls' skirts for around £5. The rest of the Rawcliffe uniform includes a blazer at £34, £21.99 for trousers and £21 for two blouses as well as £5.99 for tights and £5.50 for a tie.
