AURORA, Ohio – In a back-and-forth contest that saw four different lead changes, third-seeded Aurora was able to make the final lead change count.
Brandon Liepins’ 15-yard touchdown run with 10:27 left in the game proved to be enough for the Greenmen to outlast sixth-seeded Gilmour Academy, 30-27, to win a quarterfinal in Division III, Region 9 Friday night. It was Aurora head coach Bob Mihalik his 200th career victory. Aurora advances to play seventh-seeded Chardon , a 28-14 winner over second-seeded Geneva , next Friday at a site to be determined. Gilmour’s season ends at 9-3.
