Gilgo Beach suspect Rex Heuermann's DNA sample is 'consistent' with a specimen police seized from a pizza box outside his Manhattan office, prosecutors say.

"It's consistent with our expectations, so that's good," Suffolk County District Attorney Ray Tierney said after Heuermann's court appearance Wednesday. The DA is also the lead prosecutor on the case. Heuermann's defense attorneys, Danielle Coysh and Mike Brown, had previously tried to block authorities from taking a cheek swab, arguing that prosecutors had failed to show probable cause. Megan Waterman was 22 years old when she vanished on June 6, 2010, on security video from a Holiday Inn Express hotel in Hauppauge, New York. Suffolk County police found her remains on Dec. 13, 2010 near Gilgo Beach during the search for Shannan Gilbert.
