Get your private jet ready for the UN climate change conference, writes ZacharyFaria.
The latest U.N. climate change summit is as big a joke as anything else the United Nations does. The summit was responsible for 102,000 tons of carbon emissions last year as elitists and government officials gathered to pat each other on the back about how they all believe in climate change and how the peasants must give up cars or eating meat or whatever else it is the environmentalist loons are agitating for this year.
— Eric Lipton November 10, 2022 But the U.N. can’t just limit itself to one glaring hypocrisy, and the swarm of private jets carrying people to a conference that could be done over Skype isn’t the only one. The conference is being held in Egypt, which ranks 27th out of 117 countries in air pollution. One of its major sponsors is Coca-Cola, the global leader in plastic pollution.
Not embarrassing enough for you? How about providing the Chinese Communist Party with yet another platform to spread its propaganda, this time in the name of climate change? This isn’t new for the U.N. Its human rights council is full of human rights abusers, the women’s councils and committees are full of countries where women are not equal under the law, and the World Health Organization froze out Taiwan and spread Chinese spin during a global pandemic. But this also isn’t new for the wealthy elitists who constantly complain that no one is taking climate change seriously.
These people fly across the world from conference to conference in private jets to hobnob with people who completely agree with them while posturing as concerned activists. In the United States, these elites buy oceanside homes while warning about rising sea levels. When former Secretary of State John Kerry flew his private jet to receive an award in Iceland, he said it was “the only choice for someone like me.”No one attending this conference takes climate change seriously.
