“Star Wars” creator George Lucas expands his empire, paying $28 million for a beachfront lot next to his Carpinteria, Calif. home
Filmmaker George Lucas is expanding his beachfront property in Carpinteria, a small California city that has attracted celebrities like television host Ellen Degeneres and actor Kevin Costner.
Mr. Lucas purchased a 2-acre beachfront property directly next door to his own on Padaro Lane for $28 million, according to public records and people familiar with the transaction. The compound comprises a small Cape Cod-style home as well as a guesthouse, a tree house and a barn, according to the people familiar.
