Gas prices have climbed over $5 per gallon in Southern California this week, and experts with AAA are unsure when drivers will see relief.
In the Los Angeles-Long Beach region, gas prices topped out at an average of $5.13 per gallon. That’s about 20 cents higher than last month but nearly 50 cents below prices seen at the same time last year; prices at the pump hit historic highs in the state in 2022, and Gov. GavinAAA officials chalked up this price spike to a cutback in oil production by OPEC and a rise in oil prices.
As of Tuesday, oil prices were set at $86.60 per barrel, up from $86.45 per barrel in the week prior.
