There is a simple trick for changing hydrangeas from pink to blue
Gardeners have explained how people with hydrangeas can turn them from pink to blue using a simple kitchen waste item that normally gets thrown away. Hydrangeas come in a range of colours and the hue is determined by the acidity of your soil.
Posting a picture of her pink potted hydrangeas, Elaine Parker wrote: “What's going on here then? I bought this Hydrangea Royalty Fabolo Blue from my local garden centre for a fiver last autumn. They'd stuck it in the reduced section with a 'looking for a new home' label on it. “I’ve done everything right, so why is this? It's in a pot with ericaceous compost. I only give it rainwater. I've been giving it hydrangea feed weekly since the spring."
Mandy Price added: “I have two big pink ones in pots, 15 years old. I turn them a gorgeous shade of blue every year by putting used tea bags in the soil around them.”
