ICYMI: The GameofThrones prequel show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, has shut down due to the writers strike. 🔥

The Game of Thrones prequel show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, has shut down due to the writers strike. Based on the works of George R.R. Martin, HBO is all in on the Game of Thrones franchise with House of the Dragon season 2 and many more spinoffs in development. Of all the spinoffs in development, the laboriously titled Dunk and Egg series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, is the only one that has received a straight-to-series order from HBO.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT On his "Not A Blog," George R.R. Martin revealed that A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has shut down development as the WGA continues to strike for fair wages and increased job security. The author announced that the show's writer's room will shut down for the duration of the WGA strike.

The writer’s room on A KNIGHT OF THE SEVEN KINGDOMS: THE HEDGE KNIGHT has closed for the duration. Ira Parker and his incredible staff of young talents are on the picket lines. Will House of the Dragon Season 2 Be Affected By The Writers Strike? While A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has shut down due to the writers' strike, audiences can rest assured knowing that production of House of the Dragon season 2 will continue as previously planned.

In addition to the Game of Thrones franchise, Martin also provided updates on his other shows. Dark Winds season 2 will air this summer on AMC, though a decision on its season 3 renewal won't be made until after the strike. After Peacock passed on Wild Cards, Martin won't continue shopping the series around until after the strike is over.
