A four-day weather warning for snow and ice has been issued. Here's what's in store
Don't put those thermals away just yet as Northern Ireland's weather front is forecast to be cold and icy this week.
The yellow alert will begin at 9pm tonight, Monday March 6, and will continue through to Tuesday. The second alert for "heavy snow" will be in place from 3am on Thursday, through to 6pm on Friday. Sunset is predicted to be at 6:09pm, which is around the time that temperatures begin to drop. It will get colder each hour until midnight, when the temperature will remain at 0C - the Met Office says it will feel more like -4C.A Met Office spokesperson said it will be a cold and bright day tomorrow with "some sunny intervals and a few snow showers".
As it nears Wednesday, temperatures will drop further. From 9pm it will be 0C. It might be a night for an electric blanket, or extra layers, as experts say it will feel like -5C.Although there is now warning for snow, it will remain very cold. Temperatures will reach a high of 4C and lows of -1C.Parts of Northern Ireland will see the aftermath of snow showers on Thursday, with the Met Office forecasting hevay snow, mixed with sleet showers.
