In stark contrast, February’s winter storm dropped temperatures to near-record lows that were below zero at DFW International Airport, according to the Weather Service.The winter storm unleashed subfreezing temperatures and 5 inches of snow onto North Texas, leaving hundreds of thousands of homes in the region without power or water, and millions more across the state. The storm’s death toll totaled 210 statewide, including 38 in North Texas.
In early May, five confirmed twisters hit North Texas and a line of thunderstorms left damaged buildings and downed power lines in its wake.
