French budget minister announces plan for $100-a-month EV leases:
French president Emmanuel Macron has a plan to encourage electric-vehicle leases by subsidizing them so the user pays only about $100 per month.
The plan, announced Sunday by French budget minister Gabriel Attal on the French news channel LCI, is based on a presidential campaign pledge made by Macron back in April. According to Bloomberg, the French government currently offers subsidies for electric vehicles with prices up to $47,000.
