Free samples at Trader Joe’s are back, according toAfter the pandemic put an obvious hold on free sample stations across many grocery stores in an effort to, many around the country are starting to bring them back — but with a new approach.
“We want to focus a little more on new products,” a spokesperson for Trader Joe’s told SFGATE by email. “Things not necessarily on the shopping list but things we’re excited to share.” Calls to the 4th Street and 9th Street locations in San Francisco confirmed that free samples have returned. Amethyst, an employee who oversees the 9th Street Trader Joe’s sample station, said she restarted the program the first weekend in October, and that samples returned to all San Francisco stores Oct. 2.
