Taiwan's tech giant Foxconn admits that school interns had worked overtime and night shifts at a factory in China
The company also admitted"there have been occasions" when the percentage of interns exceeded permitted levels and said it has taken steps to comply with the relevant labour law.
The statement by Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics maker which assembles products for Apple and other international brands, came after a newspaper investigation found hundreds of schoolchildren aged between 16 and 18 have been drafted in to make Amazon's Alexa devices.
