Indiana corrected many of its mistakes from back to back blowouts, but a comeback against Phoenix fell short and they lost their seventh straight.
PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The Pacers fought back from several deficits but lost 112-107 to a short-handed Phoenix Suns squad on Saturday night at the Footprint Center.and fall to 23-25. It's the first time the Pacers have been two games under .500 since they started the season 3-5, hitting that mark on Oct. 31. The Suns, who were playing without Devin Booker, Chris Paul, DeAndre Ayton and others, improved to 23-24.
"Defensively, we did better things tonight," Carlisle said."We were aggressive. We got a little unlucky. Okogie going to the free throw line 15 times seemed a little ridiculous tonight. But you're on the road and sometimes that's just the way it goes and you have to figure out a way to get through it. I was disappointed for the guys. I know how badly they want to get the next win.
McConnell responded by dishing out three assists on the Pacers' first four buckets and scoring the other one himself. "McConnell was brilliant in this game," Carlisle said."He had a triple-double and he was just tremendous."The Pacers made Buddy Hield a priority The Pacers, and McConnell in particular, made more of an emphasis on getting him the ball and getting it in places where he could shoot it Saturday night and Hield finished with 22 points on 7 of 17 shooting including 5 of 12 from 3-point range.
