Fort Worth police cadet struck by lightning at training facility, transported to hospital

One police cadet and two Fort Worth Fire Department firefighters were injured by a lightning strike at a training facility in Fort Worth Friday morning, according to authorities. Fort Worth police said one cadet was on a run and was “possibly” struck by lightning in the ankle at the Fort Worth Police Department Training Facility on Felix Road, near Interstate 20. He was taken to the hospital and is in good condition.Fort Worth Fire department spokesperson James McAmis said two firefighters suffered minor injuries from the same strike after wrapping up a training exercise outside. The two did not require transport to the hospital.
