Fort Bend County Judge organized a rally on Friday in Richmond to denounce a bill in the Texas Senate that would ban citizens and business entities from China, Iran, North Korea and Russia from purchasing land within Texas.Fort Bend County Judge KP George and some other area elected officials spoke out Friday afternoon at a Richmond rally to attack a proposed bill that would ban business entities and citizens from China, Iran, North Korea and Russia from buying land in Texas.
Fort Bend County Republican Party Chairman Bobby Eberle issued a statement criticizing the rally, saying George, a Democrat, had used county resources to protest the bill. “Instead of comprehending the national security and economic implications from such land purchases by countries such as Iran and North Korea, George plays the race card for cheap political points,” Eberle said in his statement.
