A former political appointee of former president Donald Trump was found guilty of joining assaults on police on Jan. 6, 2021, that included one of the most prolonged attacks on officers by rioters in a tunnel at the Lower West Terrace of the U.S. Capitol.

He said he spent most of his time taking video with his camera, had no intention of disrupting Congress and became upset when he saw others in the crowd hit with pepper spray by police.
