Willie Taggart's tenure at Florida Atlantic is over after three seasons.

"It was a difficult decision, as we have tremendous respect for Willie Taggart," FAU athletic director Brian White said in a statement."He has represented FAU with class and character. However, the lack of on-field success needed to be addressed as we look toward the future." FAU was 5-4 in Taggart’s first season with the school in the COVID-shortened 2020 season and lost in the Montgomery Bowl. But the team has finished 5-7 in each of the past two seasons.
