But, Edwards, now 43, was at Darlington Sunday and it certainly sounds like he is getting the itch to get back out there whether in NASCAR or some other form of racing. The telling exchange reportedly came during a spot in the booth when Clint Bowyer asked him if he had thought about a return.“But it’s getting harder and harder.
“I like sliding stuff around and driving cars,” he added. “So, there’ll be a time when I go do something. Maybe sim work, something like that … to see if I could still drive. It’s a step-by-step process.So that certainly sounds like the guy is ready to test the waters and see if he still has it. And, if he does, who know? Maybe we will see Carl Edwards back behind the wheel.
