Former mayoral candidate Willie Wilson has pledged to give away $200,000 in gas in $50 gifts to motorists who fill up at one of nine preselected gas stations Thursday on a first-come, first-served basis until the maximum $200,000 donation is reached.

“The soaring price of gas has caused a hardship for too many of our citizens,” Wilson said in a news release.
