Charley Webb is known to millions of people as Debbie Dingle following her long stint in Emmerdale
Appearing on ITV show Loose Women, Charley Webb, 35, who found fame as an Emmerdale child star addressed the pitfalls of being a celebrity. Charley, who is known to millions as Debbie Dingle, doesn’t like the eagerness, of some, to take photos of famous people.
“Everywhere you go people just take pictures of you. Nobody even asks anymore. I mean some people do of course.” Charley explained. “‘Imagine if I was just walking down the street and just thought ‘Oh I’ll take a picture of you’. I’d probably be arrested.”Charley is married to former Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden. The couple’s first child, a boy called Buster was born in April 2010 and in December 2015 their second son Bowie was born. They welcomed their third son Ace in July 2019.
Charley said if she was starting out again now she possibly wouldn’t have pursued a career in acting given the pressure which comes from social media. Charley added: “It would have been a whole different story. I don’t know if I could have done it. The world is so different.” Since leaving Emmerdale, Charley has appeared in BBC drama Better and she will soon be seen in the stage production of Quiz. The touring show is based on the infamous Who Wants to be a Millionaire? contestant Charles Ingram.
