The Downey clan transferred from Lavey to St Brigid's earlier this year and Andy McEntee is examining the prospect of one of the siblings declaring for Antrim
Oran Downey took part in a challenge game between an Antrim select and Cargin last weekend as the Toome outfit continued their preparations for next weekend’s Ulster Club Championship tie against defending provincial champions Glen.
Oran played on the Derry U20 team in 2020, Enda featured in the U20 squad in 2022 and was also the senior panel last season. They lost out to holders Cargin, who went on to retain their title, in horrible conditions in Dunsilly having lead by three early in the second half. However, Antrim boss Andy McEntee appears keen on Oran Downey trying his hand for the Saffrons this season.
