BREAKING NEWS: Former Arkansas Gov Asa Hutchinson announces 2024 presidential run
Former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson formally declared a 2024 presidential campaign on Sunday.
Hutchinson is the third Republican to formally announce a campaign and will face off against former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley and former President Donald Trump. Several another figures are expected to enter the race but have yet to do so.This is a developing story. Check back soon for updates. The 72-year-old former governor joins a field that includes Trump, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. Hutchinson, who left office in January, tells ABC's “This Week” that he's “confident that people want leaders that want the best of the America, not those who appeal to their worst instincts.” He said he would make a formal announcement in April in Arkansas. Hutchinson has ramped up criticism of Trump in recent months and recently called another Trump presidential run the worst scenario for the GOP.
