The bitterest boxing rivalry of 2022 was not Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk or Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte… it involved two former World’s Strongest Men.
Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson met in the boxing ring earlier this year in their highly anticipated showdown to settle their rivalry once and for all.There was no need to over exaggerate their hatred of each other, they genuinely despised one another.over accusations of cheating at the World’s Strongest Man and escalated from there.
Their rivalry went to a new level in 2020 when Thor broke Hall’s deadlift record of 500kg, which he set in 2016.The Mountain lifted 501kg in his home gym and took the world record away from him, but Hall contested that it should not have stood because it was not done in a competitive environment.Both underwent dramatic body transformations as they prepared to make the transition to the boxing ring.
