The survivors of Forenthy House child abuse will be holding a protest outside the City Chambers calling for action from Glasgow City Council in their fight for justice.

Glasgow women who were abused at a residential school they were sent to by the local authority will be protesting over a lack of action.

It wasn't until over a decade after the home shut down that the first survivors began to speak out about what they had experience. In the years since, a survivors group made up of hundreds of those sent to Forenthy, has been campaigning for justice. "We're calling on Glasgow City Council to give us the records that we are entitled to. Without them we're not able to apply for the redress scheme, we're not able to confirm the dates we were there, what age we were, the staff members who worked there - we have nothing.

"The council is continuing the abuse by not giving us the records that could potentially help us get justice." Marion Reid, co-founder of the survivors groups, added: "We're being pushed and pulled from pillar to post. Everyone has been full of promises but nothing ever comes of it - it's draining. "The records are likely to have been destroyed we are told. And despite the many acts, statutes, regulations, and supervisory bodies and despite it being described by the council in Glasgow at the time as a residential school, it seems Fornethy escaped inspection.
