Good morning! We're looking at one of the longer stretches of hot inland weather we've seen so far this Summer, which will be in place through midweek. More on Today in the Bay.
One of the longer stretches of hot weather inland we’ve seen so far this Summer will be in place now through midweek. Valley highs will be in the 90s to 100s through Wednesday with peak temperatures likely in the Monday-Tuesday timeframe. Meanwhile, there should still be enough of a sea breeze to keep coast and bay temperatures more mild with highs in the 60s to 80s.
One big wild card in the forecast given the hot, dry and at times breezy conditions, especially inland, will be the risk for thunderstorms at times into Monday. Although best chances likely will be near the Sierra and northern coastal mountains, the upper air pattern will send showers from east to west over the Bay Area at times, with the best chances coming up Sunday evening into early Monday.
Given the overnight temperatures in the 70s for the hills and low humidity in place, the pattern is primed for dry lightning with any mid-level based convection. We’ll be watching that closely.
