Flooding hits Lancashire after torrential rain as Met Office warns of three-day washout
People across Lancashire have woken up to torrential rain with flash flooding hitting parts of the county.
Traffic alert service Inrix reports of flooding on Northumberland Avenue between Belford Avenue and Newcastle Avenue. Westbourne Road in Cleveleys is 'just passable' due to flooding near A587 Broadway while the A587 Crescent West Northbound is just passable with slow traffic due to flooding at Aldi. A massive low-pressure system off the west coast will send temperatures plummeting in parts of the country, with lows falling to 10C or 11C in the north and Scotland. It could even drop to as low as 4C overnight in more northerly parts, thanks to what British Weather Services forecaster Jim Dale calls a "polar maritime airmass across the country".
