The Jaguars look much improved in the second half as they took the lead, but they couldn't make it hold up.

Though Jaguars defensive lineman Foley Fatukasi entered the game with a questionable label due to a calf injury, he was active on game day. Jacksonville listed five players, including fifth-round rookie running back Snoop Conner, inactive. The Jaguars needed to start the game off hot after receiving the opening kickoff, but they had to settle for a 33-yard Riley Patterson field goal despite moving the ball well on the first few possessions.

Etienne couldn't come up with the grab, however, dropping the ball and thus turning it over to the Commanders on downs. Before his drop, Etienne had accounted for 35 total yards, including a 23-yard reception from Lawrence to get the team to the Washington 9-yard-line. Those early scores and sloppy play, though, spelled trouble for Jacksonville as they looked to catch up. With their backs against the wall, the Jaguars needed something to give the team some new life. With just 90 seconds remaining in the first half, Jaguars outside linebacker Josh Allen came up big, forcing a fumble on Washington receiver Curtis Samuel. Defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi was credited with recovering the ball.

Through the first three quarters, Robinson accounted for 53 rushing yards on nine carries, including a long of 22 yards. He also accounted for the team's first touchdown of the day, a three-yard touchdown on a pass from Lawrence. Robinson also scored on an 11-yard carry early in the fourth quarter.
